Join the City's Environmental Programs Manager, Dawn Taft, the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., to help remove nonnative, invasive plants from the City's parks. Invasive species can grow quickly, preventing native plants from thriving and disrupting our local ecosystems. This is a great way to help your community and earn student service-learning hours! The City provides cotton work gloves but volunteers should dress appropriately by wearing sturdy boots or shoes, long sleeves, and pants. Locations rotate through various City parks. For more information on locations, please visit the City website at Controlling Invasive Species - City of Hyattsville To learn more and confirm your participation, contact Dawn Taft at (301) 852-8790 or at dtaft@hyattsville.org
